About Me

I’m a stay-at-home mother to three boys, ages 16, 14, and 12.

Two things I said I’d never do: marry a boy from my small hometown and homeschool our children. I’ve been married to my husband, a guy I’ve known my whole life, for over nineteen years now. And we are homeschooling our children. I’m lucky on both counts.

Before marriage and children, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master’s in Professional Writing. My thesis, Trespassers, was published in October 2014. Since then I have published two more novels: Tree of Good & Evil and A Hometown Christmas.

I’ve lived in 14 states, 17 different cities. I’ve driven cross-country seven times. And the fastest I’ve made it from the East Coast to the West Coast was with my younger brother. It took us 46 hours or as we like to say: two hours less than two days. Somehow it sounds more impressive that way.

I’m afraid of the dark, can’t walk in heels, and hate to run. I don’t eat my veggies, am abysmal at small talk, and love ice cream, specifically Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip and Edy’s Double Fudge Brownie.

I dream in color.

So please, sit back, put your feet up and stay a while! And I’d love it if you’d leave me a comment and let me know you were here.

Thanks for visiting!

  5. I had to laugh when I arrived here and read that quote on your front page Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia after just reading your comment on my blog about the man who I couldn’t get out of my head (who became the main character in my novel).

It reminded me too of the days when I had a half hour walk to pick the children up from school and sometimes ideas came to me while I was walking and I didn’t have a notebook to hand, so I had this theory that if I spoke the idea aloud, it might have a better chance of being recalled later – all very well except for the occasional person sitting in their parked car looking at me strangely LOL.

    So glad to have connected.

  6. Andrea! I’m so excited to come across your blog! On to reading it now 🙂
PS-Man, our kids are practically the same age! And you homeschool!

  7. I read this and it makes me sad all over that you guys moved away… It is like a check list of myself… Driven across country (you win, 78 hours here)… Can’t walk in heels, not a fan of the dark.. and abysmal at small talk, and love the same darn ice cream 🙂 I look forward to reading your writings/blog!
